Do I need to be depressed/anxious to attend?
No, you do not need to be depressed to attend our course.
This is a course for both sufferers of depression & anxiety and their supporters (i.e family, close friends, partners) who are often affected by watching their loved one go through this illness.
(You can still come along, even if your depressed/anxious loved one does not wish/isn't able to attend - the course aims to equip those closest with the tools to help.)
We want as many people as possible to be educated on mental health & wellbeing, just be aware that there will be a majority of vulnerable people attending for very personal reasons.
Do I need to be a Christian to attend?
This course is for all faiths and none. You don't need to be a Christian to attend.
It's important to us as a charity that God is in everything we do, but that does not mean we are there to evangelise. We are Good Samaritans, coming alongside those who need our course.
Depression & anxiety don't discriminate, everyone deserves hope for recovery, and we would never stop someone coming to the course because of their beliefs.
We encourage course attendees to attend for the full 6 weeks.
This has proven beneficial for those who have attended in the past, as they have a full understanding of everything they can do to get better/support someone else to recover.
The course has been structured so that each week compliments the sessions that come before and the sessions that follow. (It's also important to note that you will be in a table of other attendees who will find their group dynamic is affected if you decide to only come for part of the course.)
